Where The Wild Things Are
When Max gets into trouble and his mom sends him to bed without his supper, he sails off into another world where the wild things live. He spends some time with them and when he gets homesick he returns home to his room. After returning home, he sees that his supper is waiting on him...and it's still hot!
This is a great adventure book to read to younger children. After reading this book, the teacher could have the students create their own Wild Things. They could also write and draw where they would like to take an adventure to if they were given a chance.
